We built this touch-screen heater around a serious piece of hardware: a 400V, 2500W halogen infrared lamp. It was designed for industrial control panels—the kind of tight spaces where you can’t afford to wait around for heat.

What makes it tick

Here’s the thing: it runs straight off 400V, the same voltage you’ll find on most industrial bus lines. That means no bulky step-down transformers cluttering up your cabinet. Just clean, simple wiring and more room to breathe. The lamp itself is compact—300mm long and just 10mm across. So you get heat where you need it, right where you need it, without warming the whole enclosure. And with 2500W on tap, it warms up fast. Seriously fast. But that power comes with a heads-up. You’ll want to plan for thermal management—good ventilation or solid heat sinking—to keep the touch screen electronics calm and stable.
